PSHE - Personal Social and Health Education
How can we get the most out of Personal, Social and Health
Education?
At the moment it is not compulsory to teach PSHE in schools. In
those schools that do teach it, some do it very well and some
struggle.
Do you have PSHE lessons? What do you think of them? How do you
think they could be improved?

"I was under the impression politics would be taught
in secondary school under Citizenship. I'm in Y8 and up to now it
has not. Politics tie in with the UNCRC, so I'm
confused?"

"I have just moved to secondary school and the sites
help me to keep in touch with my primary school friends and also
keep in touch with my new friends without using a phone"

"I think PSHE should not be taught as a proper
lesson once a week but more like maybe once a month or term, as
when it is every week it is more difficult to get everything
arranged. When this happened at my school in most PSHE lessons
there was nothing to do."

"I think we should use it to do more development
work such as confidence building, team working - outdoors activity.
Get us out the classroom more"

"PSHE lessons were taught at my school. However
poorly, as some teachers were even embarrassed to teach certain
issues!"
