Young NCB members honoured with Diana award

Young NCB Members receive the Diana awardYoung NCB is delighted to announce that its Advisory Group of young people has been honoured with a Diana Award, which recognises young people aged 12 to 18 who make a profound difference to the lives of others.

There are over 24,000 Diana Award Holders across the UK and they include fundraisers and campaigners, as well as young people who continue to contribute to their communities despite their own personal difficulties. The members of the Young NCB Advisory Group have been chosen for the Award because of their work in the fields of volunteering and participation to improve the lives of children and young people.

Young NCB is a free membership network for all children and young people who are 17 and under and who live in England and Northern Ireland. Supported by NCB, Members are given the opportunity to speak out on the important issues that affect them such as safety, sex and relationships, schools and education, bullying, drugs and the media.

Maggie Turner, Director of the Diana Award, says, “The Diana Award gives public recognition to young people who give their time and expertise without seeking public rewards for themselves. Within communities and schools across the UK, there will be young people who have done something wonderful and we welcome nominations.”

Young NCB Coordinator Adriana Thomas said, “We are very proud of our Diana Award holders and are delighted that their hard work has been recognised. The value of this recognition to our young people is immense and I know their hard work will continue to help the lives of others.”
