Health matters to everyone
What is the Camden Young Health Advisors Group?
They are a brand new group of 18 young people who get together
to help Camden PCT (Primary Care Trust) decide and plan what
services it should develop in Camden and around London too. Being a
member of the group is an excellent way of getting your voice heard
and representing the views of other people in Camden.
You will learn about what new health developments that are
taking place in Camden and influence these developments by talking
to the decision makers yourself. You will learn new skills
throughout our programme and gain confidence in meeting and sharing
your views with others. Above all you get to meet lots of young
people with different backgrounds and experiences and have lots of
fun! Oh and you will earn a bit of money for your work too!
A member must be able to commit to:
- meet up with the rest of the group as many times of possible
(the group will meet 8 times a year usually during schools holidays
or at weekends),
- respect other young people views even if they are not the same
as yours,
- represent the views of other children and young people by going
out into your local community and getting their views.
You can apply if you are be aged between 13 and 19 and live in
Camden. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done this sort of thing
before. It won’t cost you a penny!
